Warpness: The Labyrinth (ep)

Richard Gürtler Although "The Labyrinth" is to my taste more rhythm-charged endeavor, its sole creator has again managed to fully unfold his creatively distinctive insignias that were extraordinarily exhibited on masterpieces such as "Tralfamadore" and "Atmosphere". Sure, a journey that lasts only for 21 minutes is a quite short for some deeper immersion, but even this brief effort clearly showcases the gift of Tom Ståle Engebretsen.

about

This mini EP started with an invitation from Eight Tower Records. I was invited to participate on a compilation from this label. When this happened I was working in "Studio Flatdal" with mix and mastering on future releases. But of course: I was in the mood of making new compositions. This was the ticket to do so.
The chosen theme was "Labyrinth." I thought I could make this title, pretending it was a commision.
During these days in May 2017 I came up with 4 pieces of the theme. I was never in doubt that part 1 was the one to give Eight Tower Records. But I am quite satisfied with the 3 other parts also. So the idea of making an EP was borned. And here it is! With mood and disturbing noise. With guitars and rhytms. Enjoy listening.

A special thanks go to Raffaele Pezzella who invited me to Eight Tower Records. You find this project here: (Highly recommended)

This is review of "The Labyrinth" (part1). Written by Thelema Veritas:
Warpness is up next with a track that feels thoroughly inspired by Star Trek (the Next Generation to be precise). The Labyrinth is a mixed of space ambient and horror ambient. This one was one of my favorites on the album, I felt connected to the music (by way of nostalgia) and engaged in the journey again. With its combination of sinister melodies and random chords it kept me on my toes. Always be aware of your surroundings in the labyrinth.
